Homework for Week 5:

Wednesday:

- study the vocabulary notes after the text 'A Day's Wait' and make a Study Page. Divide the page in your copybook into two columns, write down all the examples from the vocabulary notes in the first column and translate them in the second column. Bend the page in half so that you can check yourself.

- do the written vocabulary analysis of the words "ache / to ache", "pain / to pain" and "hurt" according to the usual scheme.

- make a written summary of the text "A Day's Wait". A summary is a short version of the story, that tells only the important parts of the plot. You summary should be less than 15 sentences and it should have no direct quotes from the text (use your own sentences, do not copy them from the text).

Thursday:

- study the pages 1 and 2 from our Medical Vocabulary printable, translate the sentences and take notes on your questions.

Homework for Week 7:

Wednesday

1) read through pages 6,7 and 8 and translate the examples in them. Make it a Study Page - write the sentences in one column and translate them in the other column so that you can check yourself and each other by closing half of them.

2) get ready with the plan and the draft of the information for your individual project. You may want to start the PPT, but we do not need it in class. We will have half an hour to discuss your projects, brainstorm more ideas and find extra sources.

Thursday

1) write a vocabulary story about some imaginary person who fell ill and was taken to hospital. Use as much vocabulary as you can. Write 150-200 words, underline the vocabulary used and try to make it a little funny or interesting.

Homework for Week 8:

Wednesday: Halloween Home Reading

- get ready with a short (5-6 minutes), well-prepared, beautifully intoned retelling of the book you have read. You should tell, not read.

- prepare a handout with the difficult words from your retelling: the word + its explanation from a good dictionary like https://www.ldoceonline.com/ No more than 10 words; one copy for every person in the group.

- bring some edible stuff to go with the tea. The tea, the hot water and the glasses are available in Room 301.

- dress up a little or use some thematic element in your clothes and / or makeup. Feel free to go all out or to be as modest as it is comfortable for you.

Thursday: Individual Medicine Projects

- the three people who volunteered for this week will present their individual projects. Try telling rather than reading, prepare a written text of your story and rehearse.

- the other people should spend at least an hour learning the vocabulary from Medical Vocabulary printable by heart.

В связи с тем, что, оказывается, одна из наших пар вот-вот закончится, и у нас остается всего ДВЕ пары в неделю, сдать свои индивидуальные проекты по медицине ВСЕМ нужно в среду, 3 ноября.

Это единственное домашнее задание к 3 ноября, других не будет.
